We feel a little cheated having missed the Labor Day holiday. We will make note though that the Red Bud tree at our front window on Springwood Drive was planted a year ago.
I am sure 2013 has brought some new memories we will fondly remember next September.
This past week we had a lot of rain which gave us some home time. Rachel and Emily had a day to do make overs and go to the gym. Our favorite 2 hours of the week is when we get to watch So You Think You Can Dance. Since Rick does not care to join us we watch it in the afternoon on Wednesdays. Sadly this next week is the final show.
We got to go to the temple twice this week. Rachel and I went on Thursday with some of the Branch sisters. They did the session in English again so we lucked out on that. Saturday Emily, Rick, Rachel, and I went again to the temple. It is such a calm and peaceful temple and not ever crowded.
Friday was the day for Tian Tan Buddha. We were very disappointed to find the cable car ride over the mountains was shut down for a few weeks so we had an hour ride in a hot crowded bus up the mountains. The Buddha was pretty amazing. It sits on the top of a mountain and it is huge. We climbed up the hundred plus stairs which was a feat for me. The highlight of the day was after the long hot bus ride back down we found a Haggen Dazs ice cream store and indulged in a refreshing yummy treat!
