| SARAH ANN GARR (BURTON) 24 SEPT 1838 RICHMOND INDIANA Sarah Ann crossed the plains with her family when she was 8 years old. Her mother had already died. She lived on Antelope Island for most of her teenage years. Her mother had taught her to knit, and she later learned to spin, dye wool and weave. She was the second wife of Robert Taylor Burton. She married him when she was 17. She gave birth to 15 children. A fun story about her is that when she was invited to a dance once she did not have anything to wear so she dyed the fabric from their covered wagon and made a dress to wear to the dance. | JANE EDITH BRABY (WATSON) 1 SEP 1877 SLC UTAH
Jane Braby’s parents were from Amberley England. That is where Amberly Pages name comes from. Great Grandma Watson, was affectionately
called WaWa. She married Alexander Linnell Watson and they had 2
daughters Leone and Ruth. Jane cared uncomplainingly cared for and encouraged her
handicapped husband and lovingly took care of the family and home.

| LEONE WATSON (DOXEY) 3 SEPT 1899 SLC, UT Grandma Doxey was a special lady. She had only an 8th grade education and never felt very smart. Leone worked for the large company of Swift & Company as a young women. She was so admired for her dependability, competence they gave her a raise. She was thrilled with the money and said, “Now I can pay more tithing.” Her service in the church strengthened her talents as well. She was the wife of a mission President, on the Primary General Board of the church and a counselor in the Primary General Presidency. In that calling she wrote for and helped with the Children’s Friend magazine. Her husband died 30 years before she did and she spent 20 of those years serving in the SL Temple. My favorite calling she had was as a primary teacher for an older class in her late 80’s. She was never too old to say yes to a calling. I learned a lot from her as I stayed with her often during my college years while my family was on their mission. She told me the story of not liking Grandpa (her husband) much when they were first dating. She would encourage me to not be too quick to reject a good boy. Grandma Bunkin, as she was called by her grandkids, had many fears and was a worrier. A favorite scripture that helped her was 2 Timothy 1:7. She often bore her testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Her influence has been a blessing to me. Marilee's grandmother |

| ALEXANDER LINNELL WATSON 11 SEPT 1876 SLC, UT
Alexander provided for his family by selling produce off a
wagon in Salt Lake City. He was
handicapped for 30 years. He made his
living driving around on the wagon selling other farmers vegetables. Alex Watson was not very active in the church
but he was known for his integrity and was admired for his hard work perseverance
and kindness.

| MARY LOUISE ROSS(YOUNG) 3 SEPT 1899 SLC, UT
My Grandma Young was also a very lovely lady. She and Grandma Doxey shared the same
birthday. My deceased sister Amie also
shares this birthday only she was born in 1967.
Many of the wonderful qualities I love in my mother have come from her
mother. She was an excellent
homemaker. She kept things clean and
took care to keep them up. This also was
part of her money saving skills. She
saved money by making the family meals instead of eating out. She would make the best Sunday roast with
dark gravy! She was careful to buy only
what they needed and to shop for those items on sale. When she passed away, she had hundreds of
dollars stashed away in various books and under mattresses. She served on the
RS General Board and I remember her telling us about how she hated to fly
because of the pain it caused in her ears.
She flew to Dresden Germany on an assignment once while the Berlin wall
was still in place. She raised 4
children. Their son Teddy, who was Down
syndrome, was loved, and cared for through many sacrifices, but he brought her
great joy.
