Trip to Macau

Three hightlights this week.
1) Monday August 19th we headed out in a downpour and caught the bus that took us up a winding steep road across the island to Stanley Market.  It was a double decker bus and road on the top so the ride was plenty exciting. Toni Crandall our neighbor went with us and helped us find our way.

2)Tuesday August 20th we went out in the evening to a concert. Rick was kind enough to go with us so we did not get lost.  We took the MTR to the Telford mall which was really nice and had our first real chinese dinner and it was delicious! Then we took a taxi to the expo center to the concert of Beyond 5 a new boy band. It is created by members of the LDS Church and one of the managers parents are missionaries in the legal office here.  The Castletons work with Rick.

3)Thursday August 22 we took a trip out of the country to Macau.  It was a rough 50 minute ferry ride but we made it without losing our breakfast.  We hopped on the Hop on Hop off bus and got around Macau stopping at a few of the sites.  It was very hot and very humid so the stops with air conditioning were our favorite!  We loved watching the bungie jumpers jump off the Macau Tower 200 meters high.  Luckily the ride back was much smoother and we stopped for a wonderful steak/chicken dinner. When we went through passport control in Hong Kong they took Rick off somewhere and we stood there trying to stay calm.  He had to get his work permit activated but we did not know that so we were a bit anxious and very grateful it was not Russia where it would have been much scarier!
