Spring Break Adventure

This year for Spring break Abby Emily Rachel Dad and I went to Amsterdam for some dutch culture and tulip siteings. The first day left in a blizzard in Moscow we were glad to be heading out. We arrived in Amsterdam in the early evening picked up a cute black audi and drove 20 minutes south to Leiden Holiday Inn. We did a lot of ahhhing along the way as it was blue skies, warmer, and there were bright yellow daffodils everywhere. The country side was lovely very orderly, pristin and rural. It felt like Kansas and Missouri to me. When we got to the hotel Dad discovered he had forgotten a white dress shirt for the temple the next morning so we took off to try to find an open store but the country shuts down by 6 so we were out of luck but we did find the way to the temple and had a fun time driving through more country sides (at least those of us that were not smashed in the back seat). The next morning Dad dropped us off at the temple and went in search of a shirt. We meet up with him as the baptism session began and not only did he find a shirt but a lovely tie too (not a surprise). Abby went on an endowment session and the rest of us joined up with a ward from Brussels who spoke french. Dad had a great time doing baptisms in french! The ward also had some ex-pats from the USA that we knew so it was fun to connect as so often happens in the church everywhere.

After the temple we went into The Hauge and wandered around that quaint city did some shopping eating of fries they sell and serve in paper cones and then we went to a movie "Last Chance Harvey" and enjoyed the rare but favorite activity. The movie was pretty good too. It was a long day and we were ready for the hotel and a good nights sleep.
